We welcomed our Queen of Martyrs faculty & staff back today celebrating the Feast of the Assumption with Mass, prayer, and a special blessing. During our teacher meetings, we spent time reflecting on our vocations as Catholic school educators with Lectio Divina on Mark 10:13-16 "Let the children come to me" and the inspirational phrase posted in our classrooms and hallways: Let it be known to all who enter here that Jesus Christ is the reason for this school, the unseen but ever-present Teacher in all its classes, the Model of its faculty, and the Inspiration for its students. May Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, bless our teachers, students, and QM families during this new school year!

Last Wednesday, the Evergreen Park Girls Softball League hosted its championship game for its Petite Division. Queen of Martyrs students: Caitlin Burke, Marissa Lugowski, Maggie Moran and St. Gianna Religious Ed. student Belle Ramazinski were part of the Boilermakers team that battled into overtime. It was an exciting game to the end, and the Boilermakers fell short, in a 8-9 loss. The girls had a blast and we are proud of them for their hard-work all season. Go Wildcats!

Queen of Martyrs welcomes Mrs. Ann Docherty! Mrs. Docherty will be our 8th grade teacher and teach ELA and Science to our Junior High Students. Mrs. Docherty is the proud mother of three QM alum (Caroline '15, Declan '16, Jack '19), and we are excited to have her join our talented faculty and staff! Welcome Home! #WhereFaithandKnowledgeMeet
